United Saints! Spike 2!

Spike number 2- United Saints' First Street Recovery Project in New Orleans, Louisiana!
After 2 days of sleeping in the van (and getting all the truckers to honk) we made it to NOLA. Our sponsor had dinner ready for us and we met some of the people we're going to be working with during the round. Then we unpacked and went to bed. Our housing is across the street from the church. It's a teeny place but we make it work. I'll get some pictures of it someday.
On our first day of work we ripped out carpet and tack strips in the church and moved the pueters back into place for an event.



After work we went to Bourbon street. It reminds me of a mix between Vegas and the Bayou part of Disneyland. And there are beads everywhere!


We went out to the French Market on our day off and had a Cafe Au Lait and Benigets (IDK how to spell it) at Cafe Du Monte. They were like giant funnel cake donuts covered in powdered sugar :)


Today we gutted a house and we hung up some sheet rock in one room. Hopefully by the end of the week we'll sheet rock the whole house and mud it up. Eventually we'll fix up the whole place so it's live-able. These are the before pictures someday I'll have the afters.
