Spike 1: Week 4 & Spring Break

On Tuesday we dug some trenches in a riverbed and filled them with rocks and logs so that when it rains it will create pools in the river and help slowdown the flow. Then we trekked through the forest and dug up more rocks to line the riverbed so it won't erode.. i think thats what Scott said- our site supervisor that day, anyway, it was just cuz he didn't have anything else for us to do that day.
On Wednesday we worked with Scott in the forest and built benches and sludge hammered them into the ground by the riverbed- that way no one can steal them. Then we started digging 2ft deep by 5ft wide trenches at Wolf 5's farm.
On Thursday we turned the trenches into a partial rain garden (pictured below). When it rains the hillside gets flooded so we dug out a figure 8 shape which will eventually be lined with gravel and in the middle will have pretty flowers.


At 1:00 I left work early to fly home for spring break!!!! Woo!!!
After over 7 hours of being on planes I finally made it home where I fell asleep. Then we went to breakfast and drove to the river. As soon as we got to the river we drove to Laughlin and went out to dinner- the first time I had steak in FOR-E- VER!

We also got drinks for like $1 which is AWESOME compared to 2 drinks for $13. After dinner we got ready for Saturday.

On Saturday we got up and went out on the boat! Yay BOAT!

It was a little cloudy in the morning but the day turned out AWESOME- I say awesome alot hahaha

I got to see almost everyone at The Naked Pirate- at least the important people anyway :op

On Sunday we drove back to Big Bear where it was COLD but nice :)

Then we went to dinner with the Butchers- thank you again! The crab legs were awesome!

On Monday we woke up super early to drive to the airport and it was Snowing! then i spent the whole day flying and made it back to Baltimore.

Going home made me realize how fast this year is going by. I still feel like I just got here and it's been over 2 months. Training went by really fast, and 1st round of spike is almost over. When I got home I felt like I was just gone for a few days. I guess you guys know how to make me feel welcome :)
